Description:

In this audit, the IGB reviewed the role and efficacy of the Country Coordination Mechanisms (CCMs), a core element of the Global Fund’s commitment with the ownership by the country. Ā The IGB identified gaps in the CCMs performance regarding coordination and monitoring of grants. Ā The auditors also identified issues with the implementation of the CCMs policies and GF procedures at country level, particularly regarding the long term sustainability of the mechanism. Ā The GF is approaching those issues with several planned corrective actions. Ā The CCMs are partnerships with multiple partners at country level that develop and send grant proposals to the GF based on nationwide priorities. Ā After the grant approval, they supervise the progress during the implementation. Ā The CCM includes representatives of the private and public sector. Ā Currently there are 119 CCMs.
