Audit Report Global Fund Country Coordination Mechanism
In this audit, the IGB reviewed the role and efficacy of the Country Coordination Mechanisms (CCMs), a core element of the Global Fund’s commitment with the ownership by the country. The IGB identified gaps in the CCMs performance regarding coordination and monitoring of grants. The auditors also identified issues with the implementation of the CCMs policies and GF procedures at country level, particularly regarding the long term sustainability of the mechanism. The GF is approaching those issues with several planned corrective actions. The CCMs are partnerships with multiple partners at country level that develop and send grant proposals to the GF based on nationwide priorities. After the grant approval, they supervise the progress during the implementation. The CCM includes representatives of the private and public sector. Currently there are 119 CCMs.
