This document reflects the work in progress of civil society on tuberculosis (TB), HIV and viral hepatitis, regarding commitments made at the November 2018 meetings: Joint Regional Meeting of Heads of Programs for HIV, TB, viral hepatitis, partners and civil society āNew Paradigms and innovation to overcome stagnation: Actions to end AIDS, viral STIs and hepatitisā and the āTuberculosis Laboratory Meetingā where follow-up plans are established for the commitments made by countries with goals of elimination of the syndemic, as well as, of āUniversal Healthā. This document reflects work accomplishments and the agreements reached on the role of civil society in these commitments.
Community-based organizations (CBOs) working in TB, HIV, Sexually Transmitted Infections and viral Hepatitis in the Americas, based on our fundamental role in the response to the elimination of these epidemics as a public health problem by 2030 , are developing this document, which reflects the contributions made by civil society to reach the goal, with an approach of inclusion of communities and populations, and synergies between organizations under the principles of gender equality and scaling-u human rights of most affected populations.
