During the last quarter of 2016, the Platform on Communication, Coordination and Support for Latin America and the Caribbean will develop three studies aimed at improving participation of civil society and communities in the response to the three diseases in our region.
A first group of studies aims to improve knowledge on access, efficacy and innovations in the delivery of technical assistance linked to the grants of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, aimed at organizations of civil society and communities in Latin America and the Caribbean, for the period 2014-2016. The study will be carried out in Bolivia, El Salvador and Dominican Republic; the Platform has made a strategic partnership with national organizations: the Institute for Human Development of Bolivia, The Atlacatl Association āVivo Positivoā of El Salvador and the Coalition ONGSIDA of Dominican Republic, Ā in order to support the development of the studies. In December, the results of the studies will be reported at national level during public presentations in each one of the countries.
In December 2016 a meeting should be held in Panama City to analyze the results and identify innovative ways to improve the response from the communities to the three diseases and to establish lines of action to improve the participation and involvement in the Global Fund processes. During the second regional meeting of the Platform in the first quarter of 2017, one of the core items in the agenda will be the presentation of results of these studies to a broader group of activists and key stakeholders.
