The global response<\/strong> to tuberculosis, as with the other two diseases on which the Global Fund focuses its efforts, has among its limitations the violation of human rights<\/strong> faced by people affected and by gender inequalities<\/strong>, that affect unequally men, women, girls and boys. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn order to end tuberculosis as an epidemic, we need to understand well the challenges related to gender that continue characterizing \u00a0this disease, so we can improve and expand our investments to face \u00a0these barriers\u201d, said \u00a0Mark Dybul, Executive Director of the Global Fund. \u201cThat is why the launch of the UNAIDS and Stop Tb Partnership tool for gender evaluation is fundamental in the response to tuberculosis.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But for this response to move forward, it is also important that people become aware of their rights<\/strong> and demand better services. \u00a0In this Toolbox, the LAC Platform seeks to \u00a0strengthen \u00a0the response to tuberculosis through the following material.<\/span><\/p>\n
